How to read the numbers

Apple publishes no revenue or downloads. Downloads are estimated from how fast an app collects ratings. Revenue is read from the app's place in Apple's top-grossing chart, matched against published monthly figures for apps at the same place; apps at one place differ a lot, so every revenue figure comes with its range and none is a fact. Apps that are on no top-grossing chart get no revenue figure at all. See the methodology.
